Another annoying pastalatizer arrived at your door. What do you say? Ignore him or hear him out? Is this man insane, or does he simply see you as someone to prank? Is this a game? Well, you re answer could be any of the above. In 2005, in a letter to a governor, a man mentioned a hypothetical Flying Spaghetti Monster, as a way to dispute creationism. This has been adopted by teenagers, pranksters, atheists, and true-believers alike. The church’s website, venganza.org states â€Å"Some claim that the church is purely a thought experiment, satire, illustrating that Intelligent Design is not science, but rather a pseudoscience manufactured by Christians to push Creationism into public schools. These people are mistaken. The Church of FSM is real, t otally legit, and backed by hard science. Anything that comes across as humor or satire is purely coincidental.† It of course raises the question, when is a religion legitimate? It s a matter of semantics, really. The real question is not if these are legitimate, but what do these satirical religions say about our society?. What do these do for society?
